Juvenile Correctional Worker (JCW)



The Minnehaha County Juvenile Detention Center is accepting applications for part-time Juvenile Correctional Workers (JCW). JCW's perform entry level professional work in the supervision, care, guidance, and custody of juveniles detained by the courts. The hours for this position vary and may include days, evenings and overnight shifts.



SALARY:  $15.25 - $16.50 Hourly

 Correctional Officer (CO)



The Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office invites applications for Correctional Officers to fill female and male posts maintaining safety and security within the county's correctional facility. New officers will learn effective communication and de-escalation skills to manage inmate behavior for more than 500 inmates within the County's Jail. Our training program is facilitated by experienced trainers who teach first aid, report writing, crisis intervention, defensive tactics, investigation, problem solving, and other critical skills used by corrections and law enforcement professionals.  



SALARY: $19.47 - $20.96 Hourly

We have 10 LOAs in our office who perform legal and complex administrative work assisting attorneys in the preparation of legal documents and the scheduling of legal proceedings. 



SALARY: $16.79 - $18.07 Hourly

 Air Guard Security Officer I



The Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office is hiring an Air Guard Security Officer I to join our team in providing security and protection for the South Dakota Air National Guard (SDANG) facilities and equipment.  Our officers work closely with the military security officers on base in a unique team atmosphere to protect millions of dollars of SDANG assets.  We are responsible for 24/7 security services so our officers must be able to work day, nights, weekends, and holidays; shift schedules are established six months at a time.
