Job Description

Aerojet Rocketdyne seeks a Senior Contract Analyst with government contract experience for our facility in Huntsville, AL.



The Senior Contract Analyst will work under limited direction interpreting the conditions and terms of contracts, including fiscal and legal implications, and advises management on all significant procedures and regulations affecting the contract. Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures, government regulations and industry protocols.



Additional duties include being responsible for the negotiation, administration and monitoring of major contracts with government agencies and prime contractors including such matters as price, delivery and other terms and clauses involving significant responsibility and liability. Under limiter general direction, applies expertise to directly contribute to the development of new concepts and techniques. Assists in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. Acts as liaison/consultant with external and internal customers on all matters affecting contractual agreements.




Job Requirements

Plan, conduct, and direct projects or major phases of significant project assignment, coordinating the efforts of internal stakeholders in the performance of assigned activities. Administers moderate to large contracts of great complexity. Independently negotiates with the customer contract terminology, pricing, technical requirements, scope and terms. Recommends contract changes, including major revisions and coordinates the preparation and final negotiation of change orders, supplemental agreements, price re-determination, etc. affecting the life of the contract. Ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements to protect the company.



Monitors internal progress of contracts with various business units to ensure fulfillment of contract requirements. Monitors and reviews for completeness, accuracy and conformance with Federal and Defense procurement regulations and company procedural requirements to protect the company.



Prepares all necessary internal reports for management and periodic reports to customer contracting officers / buyers as required.



Assists in developing policies, procedures and practices relating to contract administration.





Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and six (6) years of contracts management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous work experience as an MOS 51C or AFSC 64P a plus.



US Citizenship Only Required. Dual Citizenship does not meet job qualifications.


Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship). Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information.

May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours as necessary to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
